Battle Creek, MI – Centrica Care Navigators welcomes the community to honor lost loved ones during our Butterfly Release event at Leila Arboretum’s Kaleidoscope Garden July 16.
It’s an opportunity for children, teens, adults, and seniors in the community to come together and celebrate the lives of those they have lost. After a reading of their loved one’s name, each family releases a beautiful butterfly in the garden.
Visitors can walk through the Leila Arboretum grounds and visit with Centrica Care Navigators staff and volunteers before the release that day.
The Butterfly Release is open to everyone in our community, even if a loved one did not receive hospice care from Centrica Care Navigators. The event helps our grief support programs, which are available free for anyone in southwest Michigan.
“There is something really special about sharing your grief, your story, and your memories with others,” says event organizer Katie Paauwe. “I’m so grateful we can hold this event for our community this year.”
It is open to the public and free to attend. To learn more and purchase a butterfly for release during the event, visit the Butterfly Release webpage.
The Butterfly Release is at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Leila Arboretum, 928 W. Michigan Ave. in Battle Creek. Registration opens at 9:00 a.m. Registration is also available online.
