The Role of Volunteers at Centrica Care Navigators
Volunteers play a vital role for Centrica Care Navigators. They may not provide medical or physical care like physicians, nurses and aides, but they do ease suffering by listening, holding a hand, or reading a book. Just being present can bring comfort.
Hospice Volunteers Come From Diverse Backgrounds.
Centrica Care Navigators work with volunteers from all types of backgrounds. Many hospice volunteers are retired, while others are working and want to give back, or students and interns gathering experience for their healthcare fields of study. A common background for hospice volunteers is having a positive experience with a family member receiving hospice care, and deciding to give their time to helping other families through a similar journey.
